The New York City-based company behind the popular New Years cake at MetLife Stadium announced that it’s changing the way it prepares the product.
Instead of making it from a frozen cookie dough, the company will now use a chocolate syrup, which has been known to cause digestive issues.
“Our cookie dough was actually not a cake at all.
It was a confectioner’s chocolate bar,” company president and CEO Jason Duchon said in a statement.
“When it comes to creating a truly delicious and nutritious cake, the recipe we use to make it is one of the most important ingredients.”
A new product is not a new idea.
The company has made the chocolate bar into a dessert for years.
But this is the first time they’ve actually cooked it and prepared it for the holidays.
Duchon says the company plans to bring the product back to New York and other New York area markets.
The new dessert will be available for purchase beginning on December 31.
